Philanthropy:
Dear Friends,
Educating the
next generation of physicians, providing outstanding patient care,
and determining the causes, treatments, and cures for devastating
diseases form the central three-part mission of the Emory School
of Medicine. Private support from friends has always been vital
in helping the School of Medicine and the Department of Otolaryngology-Head
and Neck Surgery achieve these goals. Today, in a changing healthcare
environment, philanthropic support is critical to the continued
fulfillment of our mission. Academic medical institutions are increasingly
under siege as they struggle to fulfill their missions and provide
breakthroughs in basic science and clinical applications, in serving
historically under-served, in preparing tomorrow's health care providers
to function effectively and compassionately, and in meeting the
demands of technological change.
Philanthropic
support provides the flexibility to initiate new research, to develop
new training programs, and to provide scholarships to outstanding
students. These initiatives add to the body of knowledge concerning
a broad range of medical conditions that impact the lives of the
entire human population. With out the time for freedom of inquiry,
the time to spend helping patients, the time to determine the cause
of disease, who will search for these answers, explore the new possibilities
for treatments, or find more effective ways to educate our students?
Your gift to
the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Emory
will have an impact far beyond the Emory campus or the City of Atlanta.
Your gift can touch the world, can help shape tomorrow's health
care services, can help find the answers to end suffering.
Please contact
us if you would like additional information on making a gift to
the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Emory's
School of Medicine. We look forward to hearing from you and to working
with you to help make advances in medical care.
Sincerely,
Philippe G.
